Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and visionary AI team lead to lead our AI initiatives and drive the development of our computer vision systems for pest and disease detection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AI, machine learning, and computer vision, along with proven leadership skills. The team lead reports to CTO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a strategic AI roadmap aligned with Fermata's business objectives.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of Computer Vision AI models for pest and disease detection.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of AI solutions.
• Recruit, mentor, and manage a globally distributed team of AI professionals.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning to ensure Fermata remains at the forefront of agri-tech innovation.
• Communicate AI strategies, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders, including the executive team and investors.

Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in AI and machine learning, with a focus on computer vision.
• Proven experience in a leadership role, managing AI / DS teams.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with PyTorch.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
