Camera coverage depends on several factors, incl. greenhouse layout, installation height, and potential obstacles (lighting systems, climate screens, etc.). Typically, each Croptimus™ camera covers 250-500 m². We assess the facility and design the camera layout before installation to ensure consistent coverage and eliminate blind spots in high-risk areas.

No. Cameras run on PoE over a single CAT 6 ethernet cable – one run from the network switch delivers both power and data. No extra outlets, no electrical contracting per camera.

Most facilities are up and running within hours. No production suspension – cabling and camera mounting happens while normal greenhouse operations continue.

A 2–3 week calibration period while detection thresholds tune to your facility’s lighting, crop variety, and scouting cadence. During calibration we meet with your head grower and IPM lead to set the right alerting rules – too sensitive wastes staff hours, too loose misses early outbreaks. Automated alerts begin once calibration concludes.

Images are processed locally on edge hardware at your facility, then transmitted to your dedicated Virtual Private Cloud on AWS via encrypted connection. Your data is yours – no shared tenancy, no cross-customer model training.

Pricing is based on greenhouse size, monitored crops, and selected product features. Croptimus typically represents a small percentage of crop revenue, with greenhouse customers commonly achieving payback within 1-2 years through labor optimization, more precise treatments, and reduced crop losses.

Recommended camera models available from multiple brands, typically costing €400-600 per unit (depending on geography and distributor). Hardware can be supplied by Fermata or purchased directly — we provide the required model specifications and mounting guidelines in either case.

Standard term is 1 year, but you can cancel with 30 days’ notice at no cost at any point. We don’t lock growers into multi-year commitments – the product should earn its renewal each season.
